Lillie Leggett Butler Joyner

PORTSMOUTH, Va. –  Lillie Leggett Butler Joyner, 90, passed away on Wednesday May 25, 2011. She was a native of Ahoskie, a Baptist, and retired from General Electric.

Mrs. Joyner was predeceased by her husband, Ellwood J. Joyner; her son, Charles Butler; two sisters, Mamie Leggett Vann and Julia Leggett Skinner, both who made their home in Lewiston; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Leggett formerly of Aulander.

She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Hannah; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a special friend; a sister-in-law, Betty Britt; and several very special nieces.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2011 in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Portsmouth Humane Society.
