SELMA, NC – Angela Yvette Pike Johnson, the daughter of Delmas Ray Pike and Shirley Lane Pike, has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior.

Angela was born on April 7, 1964 and was a woman of great faith.  She fought a long battle with cancer but lost her battle on May 1, 2011 at Rex Hospital.  She is now resting in the arms of her Heavenly Father and sharing time with the family and friends that passed on before her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Delmas Ray Pike; and by her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Wilbert Lane and Mr. & Mrs. George Pike.

Angela worked for the Johnston County School system and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Willow Spring, NC.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Michael Warren Johnson; her mother, Shirley Lane Pike; her sisters, Rania Pike and Teresa Pike Musser; her brother-in-law, David Musser; her niece, April Musser; and her father and mother-in-law, Warren and Faye Johnson; as well as her aunts and uncles; her cousins; and her many dear and special friends.

Angela’s family wishes to thank all of you that lifted up in prayer and ministered to the family in other ways during Angela’s long and courageous battle with cancer.  The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Jeffery Crane and the nurses who cared for Angela during her illness.  All of you are very dear to Angela’s family.

Funeral services for Angela Pike Johnson will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Parrish Funeral Home, 1351 South Pollock Street, Selma, NC.  The Rev. Rudy Halstead, the Rev. Thomas Caulkins, and the Rev. Steve Morris will officiate.  Interment will follow at Selma Memorial Gardens in Selma, NC.  The family will receive family and friends at Parrish Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
