Bertie High School softball is back to its winning ways.

After suffering their first loss in league play, the Lady Falcons bounced back to defeat Currituck County High School and Edenton in back-to-back outings as they improved to 4-1 in the Northeastern Coastal Conference.

Tuesday, the Lady Falcons downed Edenton 18-0 thanks to an 18-strikeout performance by right-hander Caroline White. She was also 4-for-4 from the plate.

Sandi Todd was the offensive leader, recording two doubles and two singles in the contest. Haley Williams added an inside the park homerun. Kelsey White also got back on track offensively with a double.

“The rest of the team contributed to the win as well,” BHS Head Softball Coach Jackie Copeland said. “Everyone got to play in the game and that is always fun.”

Copeland said the team is progressing well, despite being young.

“The girls have to keep focused and be alert on every play of the game,” she added. “Overall, I’m pleased with how we are progressing.”
