GATES – Stella Bonnie Umphlett Mathias, 89, of 27 Gates Bank Road, Gates, died Sunday, March 27, 2011 in Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, who is handling the arrangements.  Burial will follow in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.
