Eagles fall to Halifax

LASKER —With the first seven batters reaching base and a total of 16 batters coming to the plate in the first inning, the Lady Vikings of Halifax county jumped off to a big first inning and never looked back.
Going against a young and inexperienced Northeast Academy team, the Lady Vikings scored 10 runs in the first and went on to 19-0 victory.
Lindley Pulley lead off the game with a single. This was followed by singles by Janis Harris, Emily Conner, Kara Allen, Hannah Clary, Pulley and Harris again, and Jessie Jones, mixed with several walks and errors producing the 10 first inning runs.
The second inning produced another seven runs as singles by Kelsey Keaner, Pulley, Harris, Allen, along with walks and errors upped the score to 17-0.
The Lady Vikings closed out the scoring with two runs in the third.
Hannah Clary held the Lady Vikings to three hits in a game shortened to three innings.
Getting hits for the Lady Eagles were Brittany Parker, Ashlynn Bridgers and Morgan Galloway.
Up next for the Lady Eagles is a trip to Creeksville to take on the Lady Rams of Northampton County-East.
