Anna Ruth Coburn White

MURFREESBORO – Mrs. Anna Ruth Coburn White, age 91, died at the Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie on Wednesday, March 23, 2011.

She was born in Bertie County and made her home in Hertford County in Murfreesboro.  Mrs. White was a member of the Murfreesboro Baptist Church.  She owned and operated a day care from her home for some thirty plus years.  Retiring at the age of seventy-five she began to look after the elderly around the community.  He enjoyed gardening and loved gospel music.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Joseph Glenn White, Sr.; her mother and father, Lennie Bazemore Coburn and William Elisha Coburn; one son, Joseph Glenn White, Jr.; three sisters, Emily Elizabeth Floyd, Janie Allen Adams and Ethel Louise Scott; one brother, Elisha Edward Coburn; one grandchild, Kenneth Wade White; and one great grandchild, Logan Dylan White.

Survivors include her sister, Celia Mae Hoggard of Goldsboro, NC; and two grandchildren, Joseph G. White, III of Macclesfield, NC and Travis W. White and his wife, Stacy, of Conway.  Also surviving is one great grandchild, Kayla Rose White.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2011 at the Murfreesboro Baptist Church in Murfreesboro with the Rev. Lee Canipe officiating.  The interment will follow at the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery in Murfreesboro.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. prior to the service at the fellowship hall of the Murfreesboro Baptist Church.
