Falcons fall at PCHS

ELIZABETH CITY – Bertie High School suffered its second Northeastern Coastal Conference baseball loss here Friday.

The Falcons got a complete game, 10-strikeout performance from Joseph Eure on the mound, but fell to Pasquotank County High School 6-0.

The Panthers scored one run each in the second and third innings and then added two in the fourth and another pair in the sixth to take the victory.

Eure tossed six innings, struck out 10, allowed three earned runs and walked two in suffering the loss.

Chris Mizelle led the Falcons at the plate with a 1-for-3 performance including a double.

Bertie dropped to 1-7 overall and 0-2 in the league with the loss. They host Northeastern High School at 7 p.m. tonight (Tuesday) in another conference contest.
