Guidelines set for deer dog hunting meeting

JACKSON — The Northampton County Board of Commissioners are laying out some guidelines before their public forum regarding deer dog hunting.

The board of has scheduled a special called meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15 in the auditorium at the Northampton County Cultural and Wellness Center located at 9536 NC Hwy 305 outside of Jackson.

In a notice about the special meeting, the commissioners noted the purpose of the event is to receive public comments regarding deer dog hunting in Northampton County.

“This is only an informational meeting wherein questions may not be answered nor a decision will be made,” the notice states.

Any citizen wishing to speak during the meeting is required to submit written comments on a public forum comment sheet to Clerk to the Board Kimberly Turner on or before 6 p.m. March 15.

Copies of the public forum comment sheet are available at the Northampton County Manager’s Office located at 108 West Jefferson Street, Jackson, by request to the Clerk to the Board at kimberly.turner@nhcnc.net, or on the county’s website at www.northamptonnc.com.
