GATES – Marie Byrum Matthews, 84, of 356 Middle Swamp Road, Gates, died Thursday, February 10, 2011 in Guardian Care of Elizabeth City. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011 in Middle Swamp Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, is handling the arrangements.
