Everette Gray Liverman

AHOSKIE – Mr. Everette Gray Liverman, age 72, died at the Rich Square Health Care Center on Thursday, February 10, 2011.

Mr. Liverman was a native of Hertford County.  He served with the Army National Guard.

He was married to Sonja Martin on May 10, 1958 and from this marriage was born two wonderful daughters.

He was a life long member and deacon of Union Baptist Church.  There he also served in many other capacities.

Mr. Liverman was the circulation manager of the Roanoke Chowan News Herald for forty-three years. He also worked as a farmer, deputy and town policeman.  He owned and operated Liverman Trailer Park.

Preceding him in death are his mother and father, Velna Brown Liverman and Roy Liverman; two sisters, Beatrice Griffin and Louise Luke; and two brothers, C.J. and Merrill Liverman.

Survivors include his wife, Sonja Martin Liverman of the home; two daughters, Robin L. Ward and her husband, Sammy, and Trena L. Conner and her husband, Vernon, all of Ahoskie; two sisters, Ruth Miller of Ahoskie and Carrie Anne Newsome and her husband, James, of Trenton, TX; and four brothers, Levy Liverman and his wife, Sylvia, of Washington, NC, Raymond Liverman and his wife, Minnie, Roger Earl Liverman and his wife, Reta, and Donald Liverman, all of Ahoskie, NC.  Also surviving are three grandchildren; Rachel Ward Smith, Kristen Ward and Bridgette Conner.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Union Baptist Church in Ahoskie.  The interment will follow at the Highland Memorial Gardens in Ahoskie.

The family will receive friends at Sykes Funeral Service in Rich Square on Friday evening from 7:00-8:30 p.m.
