AHOSKIE – Mildred Hughes Castelloe, age 79, of the 300 block of Baker Street, Ahoskie, died Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.

Mrs. Castelloe was born in Bertie County on October 25, 1931, a daughter of the late Zack and Eva White Hughes.  She was a member of Ahoskie United Methodist Church and was retired as a data processor from Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.

Mildred is survived by her husband, Robert Castelloe of Plymouth, NC; a step son, Dennis G. Brown of Chicago, IL; a sister, Annie Gray Perry of Colerain; two step granddaughters; four nieces and two nephews.  Mrs. Castelloe was predeceased by her first husband, Cecil Clay.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lee Edwards officiating.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Mrs. Castelloe’s home, 311 Baker St., Ahoskie, NC.
