WINDSOR – The third annual Black History Celebration will be held  here February 8.

The event has become one of the largest affairs sponsored each year by the Windsor-Bertie County Chamber of Commerce.

“We are excited about the event as we have been each year,” Chamber Executive Director Collins Cooper said. “We hope we’ll have a good turnout. If people come out, they’ll be glad they did.”

Tickets for the event – which are $15 each – are on sale until Tuesday. This year’s event is pre-sale only, meaning no tickets will be sold at the door.

The theme for 2011 is Music and there will be several local entertainers performing during the event, which will be held at the Cashie Convention Center.

“The entertainment is going to be first-class,” Cooper said. “It will be an evening of good music.”

At the close of the event, Milton Bullock will be performing for the audience.

The Celebration will begin at 6 p.m. and will be catered by A New Flavor Restaurant.

Tickets can be purchased at the Windsor-Bertie Chamber office located on Granville Street.
