Ruth Caudle Rose

AHOSKIE – Ruth Caudle Rose, 85, of Stokes Street, Ahoskie, formerly of Edenton, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 in Guardian Care of Ahoskie.

Mrs. Rose was born in Wilkes County, NC and was one of four children born to the late Paul A. and Bertha Durham Caudle.  A homemaker, she worked for many years with the Historic Edenton Visitors Center, had been a member of Edenton Baptist Church, the Edenton Woman’s Club, and the Garden of Eden Garden Club.  After moving to Ahoskie several years ago she became a member of the Ahoskie United Methodist Church and the Ahoskie Garden Club.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, I. Sandy Rose.

Surviving are her daughter, Beverly Spicer and husband, Joe, of Ahoskie; three sons, Larry Rose and wife, Cynthia, and Eric Rose and wife, Molli, all of Ahoskie, and Mark Rose and wife, Mila, of Hertford; her brother, Wilburn Caudle of Hamptonville, NC; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Ahoskie United Methodist Church by the Rev. Lee Edwards.  Following that service the family will receive friends in the social hall of the church.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton.

Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
