Mary Louise Thomas was called to eternal rest on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Norfolk General Hospital.

She was born in Hertford County, NC to the late John Bass and Louise Overton Bass. She grew up there along with her siblings, the late Hattie Bass (Marshall) and the late Walter Bass.

She worked as a nurse at Delaware County Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Sassy Sisters Chapter.

Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, William Thomas of Virginia Beach, VA; three daughters, Sabrina Tyler (Anthony Sr.) and her children: Jeanne Anderson (Marbrico Sr.), Maurice Tyler and Jason Tyler; Melody Thomas and Linda Perry

(Euric) and her children: Erica Green (Jonathan) and Kim Sanderlin (Kentraille); great grandchildren: Maria, Tamia and Aliyah Tyler, Marbrico Jr. and Brielle Anderson and Camryn Green; step children: Elaine Brown (James), James Thomas, Donald Thomas (Helen); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and other loving family members.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at First Baptist Church Powellsville. Burial will follow in the Askew- Bass Family Cemetery. Evangelist Melodie Poulson will be officiating.
