New product showcases R-C area

As newspaper journalists, our jobs, while demanding at times, are fairly simple…that of reporting the news.

As is often the case in some forms of news reporting, that job can become “cookie-cutter” in nature; meaning that some stories, especially those that are crime related, may sound reasonably the same, only with different names and criminal charges.

While this newspaper will never compromise our journalistic standards and report, accurately and fairly, all the news worth printing, even mundane crime articles, just imagine what it would be like to write only good news.

With that thought in mind, welcome to “Front Porch Living.”

After months of planning and a November full of deadlines, Roanoke-Chowan Publications proudly announces the inaugural edition of “Front Porch Living” is now available to the public.

Our very first magazine, thanks to the support of R-C area merchants, is 48 pages packed full of warm-hearted, “feel good” articles and photos. It’s simply a lifestyle magazine, focusing on the people and organizations that make our little corner of the world one of the best places to live, work and raise a family.

Edition #1 features stories about people you know and those you would like to meet for the first time after reading of their heart warming stories.

We plan to follow up with more enlightening stories – glimpses of life here in the Roanoke-Chowan – every three months.

You can subscribe to the magazine ($20 per year) by contacting R-C Publications at 252-332-2123. Copies will also be distributed throughout the local area – Chambers of Commerce, businesses, doctors offices, restaurants, beauty shops…places where people visit on nearly a daily basis.

We hope you enjoy this first edition as much as we enjoyed bringing it to our R-C area friends and neighbors.
