Dorothy Lee Mann McAuley

POPULAR BRANCH – Dorothy Lee Mann McAuley, 86, of 103 Priddy Farm Road, Poplar Branch, NC, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children and granddaughter on Friday, November 12, 2010.

Born in Pendleton, NC, she was the daughter of the late Arland and Velesta Martin Mann and was the wife of Terence Matthew McAuley of the residence.

Mrs. McAuley was a bookkeeper that loved her work and loved to fish.  She was an avid reader.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. McAuley is survived by her daughter, Diane Morgan and husband, David, of Grandy, NC; sons, Donald Boone and wife, Georgina, of Aulander, NC, Joe Frank Boone and wife, Mary, of Pendleton, NC, and Jerry Lee Boone and wife, Sandra, of Kill Devil Hills, NC; sisters, Maudrey Futrell of Franklin, VA and Betty Wing of Salem, VA; a brother, Dick Mann of Kitty Hawk, NC; grandchildren, Richard, Jackie, Jeremy, Trent, and Adam Boone, Cheryl McCloy, Mary Jo Revelle, Tammy Deaver, Lori Boris, Stephen Hill, Scott and David Morgan, Jr., Danya Glover,  Jamie and Trey Hayes, Jay and Michael Allsbrock, and Matt and John McAuley; twenty-nine great grandchildren; a son-in-law, James Allsbrock; and a daughter-in-law, Pam McAuley.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Linda Kathleen Allsbrock; stepson, Edward Matthew McAuley; a sister, Margaret Futrell; and her brothers, Raymond and John Boone Mann.

Mrs. McAuley was a remarkable woman who will be remembered as one who was always able to see the good in people.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City, with Rev. F. Joe Griffith officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the lobby of the funeral home and other times at the residence.
