AHOSKIE – Annie Claudia Doughtie Pierce, 92, of Ahoskie died Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

She was born October 17, 1918 in Hertford County. She was predeceased by her husband, Claude R. Pierce Sr.; a daughter, Ethel Lorraine; and a brother, Tom.

Annie leaves to cherish her memories, three sons, McDonald Pierce (Daisy), William McCoy Pierce (Bessie) and Claude Pierce Jr. (Beverly); six daughters, Mary Louise Jones, Gloria Jean Parker (Charles), Marian Banks (Wallace), Elizabeth Ann Jenkins (Charlie), Shirley P. Hall (Morris) and Deirdre P. Foote (Michael); a brother, Ernest Doughtie; 25 beloved grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church, Ahoskie, with the Rev. Robert Ashe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
