Arline Belch Morris Riddick

COLERAIN – Arline Belch Morris Riddick, 88, of 106 North Academy Street, Colerain, died Thursday, October 28, 2010 in Brian Center of Windsor.

Mrs. Riddick was born in Chowan County and was the daughter of the late Arlie Thomas and Collie Davenport Belch.  A homemaker, she had graduated with a teaching degree from East Carolina Teacher’s College, was a faithful member of Colerain Baptist Church, an active member of both the Colerain Civic League and the Colerain Woman’s Club, and was instrumental in the founding of the Colerain Museum.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph V. Morris, Sr. and Harry S. Riddick, Sr.

Surviving are her son, Joseph V. Morris, Jr. of Beaufort, NC; a sister, Dorothy Phillips of Highland Village, TX; a brother, Don R. Belch of Albemarle; three grandchildren, Jolene Rawls and husband, Tony, of Colerain, Joe Van Morris III of Youngsville and Brian M. Morris and wife, Rena, of Coronado, CA; and six great-grandchildren, Josh and Ryan Rawls, Caitlin and Jobe Morris, and Noah and Cailey Carlson-Morris.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 30 at 4:00 p.m. in Colerain Baptist Church by the Rev. Don Roberts.  Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, handling arrangements.  Friends may join the family Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at her home.
