WINFALL – Northampton County High School – East saw its volleyball season end here Saturday.

The Lady Rams fell to Perquimans County High School in the opening round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association playoffs.

Perquimans won by counts of 25-9, 25-4 and 25-3.

“We put up a fight,” Northampton-East Head Coach David Hasty said.

Marendy Cannon scored several keep blocks along with freshman Shakira Anderson.

Senior Patrice Williams and junior Alexus Shoulders missed the contest due to prior commitments, which hurt the Rams’ chances of pulling an upset.

“The score may not show it, but there were a few impressive rallies the ultimately fell in the favor of the Pirates,” Hasty said.
