GATES – Two suspects are sought in connection with an armed robbery that occurred here at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to early reports, two masked suspects entered a rear door of Family Foods. Shots were reportedly fired, although no one was struck.

However, one store customer was allegedly struck in the head with a weapon held by one of the suspects. That person was hospitalized.

It was reported that one suspect carried a long gun, perhaps a rifle or shotgun, while the other was armed with a handgun.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the store’s cash register and safe.

It is not known how the suspects left the area or exactly what type of vehicle was used in the get-away.
