AHOSKIE – Howard Vick Jr., age 64, of the 500 block of West First Street, died Saturday, September 4, 2010, at Roanoke Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

Mr. Vick was born in Newsoms, Southampton County, VA, on August 21, 1946, a son of Howard, Sr. and Mildred Ada Blowe Vick.

He was a member of Menola Baptist Church and was an employee for the Town of Ahoskie.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Howard Davidson Vick of Ayden, NC; his sister, Jane Ellen Vick of Ahoskie; an uncle, Ernest Blowe of Ahoskie; and a special friend, Gwen Northcott of Menola.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at Menola Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert May officiating. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA, 22312.

The family will receive friends at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, and other times at the home of Jane Ellen Vick, 113 Carlyle Askew Drive, Ahoskie, NC.
