To the Editor:

In my humble opinion, the pile of dirt at NC 11 & 11 serves no good purpose for business traffic, commuter traffic or local traffic and is a deterrent, not a service to the general public.

I know of no other major artery for traffic that is closed with a pile of dirt with the reason being safety to the public.

Is DOT making a mockery of Hertford County?

In the words of the now late Ronald Regan to the Russians about the Berlin Wall, he said, “Take the wall down.”

I say take the dirt away and find a more sensible solution. Use a traffic light or more warning lights.
