Lady Rams get big win

CREEKSVILLE – Northampton County High School – East got off to a good start during conference play here Tuesday.

The Lady Rams’ volleyball team downed Tar-Roanoke-Conference rival Weldon in straight sets to improve to 1-0 in the league.

Northampton won by counts of 25-16, 29-27 and 25-22.

The Rams offense was paced by senior Patrice Williams who recorded eight kills and two aces in the contest. Sophomore Bianca Anderson helped out by adding three kills.

On the serving front, Northampton was led by senior Brandi Keeter who had three aces and junior Marendy Cannon, who had one ace, but provided 21 points on her serve.

Northampton –East will now host defending conference champion Gates County today (Thursday) in another league outing.
