Clifton Wilson Ricks

CONWAY – Clifton Wilson Ricks, 73, died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie after a lengthy illness.

He had been preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Sylvia Jean Allen Ricks; an infant son, David Allen Ricks; and his parents, Roddie Clifton and Earle Fuller Ricks.

A native of Northampton County, he retired from Severn Peanut Company where he was a Mill Foreman.  He was an avid fisherman and a faithful member and Treasurer of the Old Tavern Rook Club.

His survivors include one son, Clifton Lee Ricks and his wife, Annette, of Conway who lovingly cared for him during his illness; one granddaughter, Misty Buren and her husband, Adam, of Lasker; one great grandson, Aiden Buren of Lasker; two brothers, Phillip “Jack” Ricks and his wife, Jean, of Rich Square and David “Mac” Ricks and his wife, Joyce, of Pendleton; one sister, Shirley White and her husband, Leslie, of Pendleton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 24 in the Town of Conway Cemetery with the Rev. Brent Hobbs presiding. Flowers in remembrance of Mr. Ricks are welcomed or memorial gifts may be made to Severn Baptist Church.
