Mrs. Hazel Ricks Vinson, age 80 of Conway, NC, died Monday, August 16, 2010 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC.
Mrs. Vinson was born August 15, 1930 in Northampton County, NC, the daughter of the late Napoleon Ricks and Maude Barnes Ricks. She was also predeceased by her husband, Ralph Lowell Vinson; and a sister, Mandy Ricks Martin.
She was a member of Ashley Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Wayne Vinson and his wife, Sue, of Ahoskie, NC; her grandchildren, John Thomas Long and his wife, Shannon, and Allison Gupton and her husband, Carl; her great grandchildren, Megan Powell, Daniel Thomas Long, Billy Long and Olivia Long; her brothers, Henry Ricks of Roanoke Rapids, Jimmy Ricks of Seaboard, NC and Bobby Ricks of Gaston, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Ashley Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. David Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Ashley Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Massey Funeral Home in Jackson, NC, Wednesday from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m.
