WOODLAND—Warrants have been drawn for a Conway man’s arrest after he allegedly dragged an individual with a vehicle near here.
According to Northampton County Sheriff Wardie Vincent, his office is currently looking for Jason Hill of U.S. 158 in Conway. Warrants for assault with a deadly weapon and second degree trespassing have been drawn for Hill.
Vincent said on Wednesday his office received a call in reference to an altercation and an assault at 961 Findley Road near Woodland.
“When deputies John Turner and Jonathan Jenkins along with Rich Square Police Chief Alan Roye responded to the scene they found there had been an altercation between several subjects out there,” Vincent said.
The officers further discovered that a male victim, identified as Dexter Lee, had been injured during the incident.
Vincent said at some point during the altercation the Lee’s arm got caught in Hill’s vehicle.
“He (Lee) ended up being dragged 80 to 100 feet,” Vincent said. “He did sustain injuries to his shoulder, arm and side.”
Hill, along with his female passenger, left the scene in a green Jeep Cherokee. A BOLO (be on the lookout) was broadcast on police radio for Hill, but law enforcement is still looking for him.
Vincent said Woodland EMS responded to the scene for Lee, who was taken to an area hospital for treatment and later released.
Hill is described as a white male weighing approximately 155 pounds and approximately six feet tall. He has a moustache and long hair.
Vincent said the investigation is continuing and more charges could possibly be pending.
