Richard E. Sharpe, 67, of Bronx, NY departed this life on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC.
He was a native of Bertie County, NC.
He was retired from the NYC Transit Authority.
Richard was a member of Sandy Branch Baptist Church, Roxobel.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Audrey Sessoms- Sharpe; one son, Richard Earl Sharpe Jr.; one daughter, Chevonne Frances Sharpe; and one God son, Paul Lamonte Turner, all of Bronx, NY; two grandchildren, Tariq and Tania; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Sandy Branch Baptist Church Roxobel, NC with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Lycurgus R. Harrell will officiate the service.
A wake will be held on Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hunter’s Funeral Home, Ahoskie.
