AHOSKIE – Mr. Eley Jackson “Jackie” Morris Sr., age 72 of Ahoskie, NC, died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at his home.
Mr. Morris was born October 23, 1937 in Hertford County, NC, the son of the late Robert Jack Morris and Mary Elizabeth Britton Morris. He was also predeceased by a son, “Peewee”; two step children, Helen and Bobby; and one great grandson, Nicholas.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Mary Elizabeth Webb Morris; a son, Eley Jackson “Buddy” Morris Jr. and his wife, Tracy, of Winton, NC; a sister, Ora Dalice Beacham and her husband, Carl of, Williamston, NC; five step children, Edward, Levey, Rita, Liz and Jr.; 20 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 2, 2010 at Highland Memorial Gardens in Ahoskie, NC with the Rev. Ronald McSwain officiating.
The family will receive friends at Massey Funeral Home in Aulander, NC, from 7-8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1.
