Dorothy Stone

Dorothy Stokes Stone, 70, of the 400 block of Wingfield Road, Tyner went to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 22, 2010 in her home, surrounded by family.
Born in Old Norfolk County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Stokes and Elizabeth Wright Gay. Those gone before her include two sons, Donald Dodge and Louis Stone, Jr. and her step-father, Thomas Gay. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Living Waters Church of God in South Norfolk.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Louis Stone; four children, Deborah Rogers, Alan Dodge, Brenda Davis and husband Ralph, Jr. and Ann Rogers and husband Keith; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Dodge; nine grandchildren, Michael Hilton and wife Sheana, Buddy Davis and wife Holly, Jennifer Dodge, Melanie Thompson, Pam Marx, Sarah Davis, Joshua Dodge, Allison Dodge and Kayla Dodge; five great-grandchildren, Michelle Hilton, Michael Hilton, Jr., Michael Hilton, III, Ronnie Hilton, Zachary Davis and Davin Davis.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Cedar Road Chapel, 2111 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. Rev. Terry Reel will officiate. The interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk.
The viewing will begin on Monday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Francis Gay Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1146 Rodgers Street, Chesapeake, Va.
