Billie Daniels

AHOSKIE – Billie Lee Daniels, age 65, of the 700 block of US 158, died Saturday, June 19, 2010, at UHS Inpatient Hospice Care in Greenville.
Mr. Daniels was born in Hertford County on November 22, 1944, a son of the late Walter Glenn Daniels, Sr. and Bular Brown Daniels. He was an active member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, serving in many capacities and on many committees, including Deacon, Treasurer, and Grounds committee.
He was retired as a salesman for Flowers Bakery and as a corrections officer with Rivers Correctional Institute. Billie also had a lawn service business, serving many local people with grass cutting and other services. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed his skills as a woodworker.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Lana Martin Daniels of the home; a daughter, Sherry Daniels Duncan and her husband, Joseph Duncan; and their sons, Lee Anderson Duncan and Joshua Brock Duncan all of Margaretsville, NC. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Daniels Vann of Conway, NC, and Dale Daniels Garris of Murfreesboro, NC; and a brother, John Roger Daniels of Murfreesboro, NC. Besides his parents, Billie was predeceased by a brother, Walter Glenn Daniels, Jr.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with the Rev. Wint Hale and the Rev. Dr. J. Brabban officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to Mt.
