Alice Richey

CONWAY – Alice Harris Bryant Richey, 81, died Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount after a lengthy illness.
She was a native of Northampton County and had been preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Alan Richey Sr.; parents, Roger and Lila Bryant; two sisters, Corenia Overby and Angelyn Overby; and two brothers, Beck Bryant and Fletcher Bryant.
Mrs. Richey, a Registered Nurse by profession, was a member of Conway Baptist Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving two terms as Worthy Matron having her father, Roger, serve as Worthy Patron for one of those terms.
Most prominent in her life was her love of family – husband, children, and precious grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Richey Jenkins and husband, Jesse, of Roanoke Rapids; and one son, Frank “Skip” Richey Jr. and wife, Dianna, of Conway; four grandchildren, Brandon Davis of Conway, Justin Davis and wife, Lora, of Boone, Anthony Richey of Greenville, and Jennifer Richey of Boone; and two great grandchildren, Rayne Davis and Jaide Davis of Roanoke Rapids.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22 in Conway Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie McLawhorn and the Rev. James Hester presiding. Burial will follow in the Town of Conway Cemetery.
The family received friends at Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc. in Conway, on Monday evening. They would appreciate any gifts given in memory of Mrs. Richey be designated for the Organ Fund at Conway Baptist Church.
