William Donald Eason, 69, of 311 Bosley Road, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010 in Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City.
Mr. Eason was born in Gates County and was the son of the late William Austin and Alice Riddick Eason. A farmer and member of Damascus Christian Church, he was known throughout the area for Eason’s Farms Strawberries.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 23 years, Frances Swain Eason; three daughters, Annette Modlin and husband, Keith, and Lisa Johnson and husband, Terry, all of Sunbury, and Sherry Eason of Suffolk, VA; step-children, Paula Rinehart and husband, Worth, and Michael Dunlow, all of Edenton; three sisters, Beryl Hale and Florence Byrd, both of Suffolk, Va. and Nell Eason of Sunbury; four grandchildren, Matthew and Kinsey Modlin and Adam and Aaron Johnson; two step-grandchildren, Sarah Nixon and Erin Rinehart; and a step-great-grandchild, Hayden Phillips.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 4 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, by the Rev. Gene Asbill. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton.
