Joe Curley Majette, 71, of Ahoskie died Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
He was born on July 4, 1938 to the late Arthur and Sally Majette in Hertford County. Majette was a member of St. John Second Baptist Church and he retired from Chock Full O’Nuts in Secaucus, NJ. He also retired from Indalex in Winton.
He leaves to cherish fond memories his wife of 24 years, Iris Howington Majette of the home; four sons, Jeffrey, Derrick, and James A. Majette, all of Brooklyn, NY, and Chris Howington of Raleigh; three daughters, Ginger H. Melton of Chesapeake, Va., Joanne H. Jones and Joan S. McCullough of Ahoskie, NC; a brother, Charles Majette of St. John; a sister, Pauline Johnson of Arlington, Va.; 13 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at St. John Second Baptist Church with Judge Robert Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
