Howard Fleetwood

U.S. Air Force Ret. SMSGT Howard Linwood Fleetwood, 77, of 1833 Geiberger Drive, in Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2010.
Serving in the United States Air Force for over 27 years he achieved many awards and numerous commendations. He retired in 1996 as a teacher with the Cumberland County public school system. He was a loving and devoted husband to Josephine, father to Christopher, Stephen, and Lynne, brother to James, Mamie, and Beatrice and a friend to many. Howard was a devoted member of St. Ann Catholic Church.
Left behind to carry on his legacy and cherish his memories are his wife of over 47 years, Josephine V. Fleetwood of the home; one daughter Lynne A. Fleetwood of Raleigh; two sons, Christopher H. Fleetwood of Raleigh and Stephen H. Fleetwood and wife, Barbara, of Fayetteville; brother, James Fleetwood and wife, Gayle, of Winton; and two sisters, Mamie Boyce and Beatrice Jenkins, both of Murfreesboro; cousin, Robert Langston and wife, Mildred, of Fayetteville and a host of family and friends.
Mass celebrating the life of U.S. Air Force Ret. SMSGT Howard Linwood Fleetwood was held on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at St. Ann Catholic Church with Father Thomas Malloy officiating. For his many years of honorable service to his country he will be laid to rest with military honors by the Honor Guard of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
Rogers and Breece Funeral Home of Fayetteville has been entrusted with serving the Fleetwood Family.
