Sammy Lee DeMasse, 66, of NC 45 North, Merry Hill, and formerly of Portsmouth, Va., died Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Bertie Memorial Hospital.
Born in Bertie County, he was a retired heavy equipment operator and member of Union of Operating Engineers Local 147. Demasse also was a used car dealer and salesman.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday May 27 at Walker Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Greco officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service.
