Shirley Marie Baugham, 64, of Boyce Street, Rich Square, died Friday, May 21, 2010 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
A native of Northampton County, she was a member and secretary of Willow Oak AME Church, Rich Square and held membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., the Eastern Stars and was the assistant secretary of the Progressive Women’s Guild. She was a graduate of Fayetteville State University with a Bachelor Degree in Sociology.
Baugham was a retired Social Worker with the Halifax County Department of Social Services.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Jacobs of Raleigh; a sister, Theresa Parker of Rich Square; and brothers, Alton Baugham Jr. of Julian, NC, Stanford Baugham of Absecon, NJ and Craig Baugham of Hampton, VA.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, May 27 at Willow Oak AME Church, Rich Square, with the Rev. James Baker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
