MURFREESBORO — The Internal Revenue Service remains tight-lipped concerning their presence at Mass Home Care Services, LLC and another Murfreesboro property on Thursday.
Numerous vehicles along with a U-Haul rental truck were seen outside Mass Home Care Services located at 827 West Main Street. The property was cordoned off with police tape and Murfreesboro Police officers were onsite as well.
IRS Special Agent Nancy Hatfield confirmed agents were at that location. Hatfield is the Public Information Officer for the IRS Criminal Investigation Enforcement.
“IRS Special Agents are there conducting official business,” she said on Thursday.
There were also reports IRS agents were at a separate property located on Main Street. Hatfield confirmed agents were there as well “conducting official business.”
There were reports that the owner of Mass Home Care Services was arrested.
When asked if there was an arrest, Hatfield said she could not confirm or deny that there was an arrest.
Hatfield could not disclose anything else.
According to the North Carolina Secretary of State web site, the owner of the business is listed Shirlene Boone.
