AHOSKIE – As part of the National Day of Prayer, a Bible reading marathon will take place daily from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 29 through Wednesday, May 5.

Event organizers said the purpose of the event is to publicly read the entire Bible in seven days.

The event is open to all area citizens who would like to publicly read the Bible for at least 15 minutes. Each day’s reading will be targeted toward, but not limited to, a specific group in the local community. Those groups include Government (Thursday), Media (Friday), Family (Saturday), Church (Sunday), Military (Monday), Business (Tuesday) and Education (Wednesday).
