Alfred Winton Harris, a native of Rowan County, formerly of Murfreesboro, died April 25, 2010 in Durham where he was living.
He was a retired Assistant Principal from Hertford County High School.
Surviving are his wife, Olivia Branch Harris of Durham; one daughter, Teryl Curtis of Durham; one son, Andrew Harris of Salisbury; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Orrie Gaither of Middlebury, Fla.
A wake and visitation will be on Friday, April 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hertford County Undertakers, Winton. A funeral will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, May 1 at First Baptist Church of Severn, with Rev. Tracy Tann officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
