Carroll H. Whitaker, 80, of Dawsonville, Ga., formerly of Durham, died Thursday April 22, 2010 following a period of declining health.
Born November 11, 1929 in Winston Salem, to the late William Everett and Frankie Swing Whitaker, he grew up in Durham, and had lived in Dawson County for the past 20 years.
Mr. Whitaker was also preceded in death by sisters, Gwen “Sis” Maddry, Judy Ralston; and a brother, William Whitaker.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Whitaker, Dawsonville; and sisters, Joyce Smith, Murfreesboro, and Frances & Carl Choplin, Durham.
