Bertram Hensel Hoggard Sr., 94, of Pleasantview Drive, Fayetteville, died Monday, April 19, 2010 in Haymount Rehab & Nursing Center.
Born in Washington County, he was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a lifetime Deacon and he was the owner and operator of Hoggard Hardware in Vander.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie Lee Hoggard of the home; a daughter, Becky H. Prevatte of Supply; a son, Bertram H. Hoggard, II of the home; a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 22 at First Baptist Church, Fayetteville, with the Rev. A. Edward Beddingfield officiating. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends in the church parlor from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 201 Anderson Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301.
