Joseph Stallings

Joseph Fred Stallings, 89, of Fred Stallings Lane, Hobbsville, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010 in Waterbrooke of Elizabeth City.
Born in Perquimans County, he was a retired farmer and a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church where he served as secretary. He was also a member of the former Hobbsville Ruritan Club and was a former chairman of the NC Cattleman’s Association.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Eure Stallings; a daughter, Ann Wilmar of Elizabeth City; three sons, Carter Stallings, Dennis Stallings and Steve Stallings, all of Hobbsville; two brothers, A. F. Stallings Jr. of Hobbsville and Lofton Stallings of Indiana; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 17 at Sandy Cross Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Asbill officiating. A private burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may join the family at the home of his son, Carter Stallings, 676 Sandy Cross Road, Hobbsville.
