Joan Speller Hardy, 64, of Cedar Landing Road, Windsor, died Sunday, April 4, 2010 at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
Born in Bertie County, she attended Martin Community College. She worked for Beltone and Bertie County Schools. She was a member of Indian Woods Baptist Church, in Windsor.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas P. Hardy; a daughter, Trish Hardy Wray of Charlotte; her mother, Clara L. Speller of Windsor; six sisters, Ophelia Speller of Brooklyn, NY, Lizzie Moore of Hampton, Va., Maxine Kee of Brooklyn, NY, Judy Swain of Windsor, Porcia Speller of East Brunswick, NJ and Linda Speller of Windsor
A funeral was held on Saturday, April 10 at Indian Woods Baptist Church, Windsor, with the Rev. Ralph D. White officiating. Burial took place at Hillcrest Cemetery in Windsor.
