Evelyn White Rountree, 91, of Orchard Street, Sunbury, died Monday, April 5, 2010 at Winslow Memorial Home, Elizabeth City.
Born in Perquimans County, she was a member of Damascus Christian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Novella Spivey and Bessie Hinton, both of Sunbury; a sister, Marjorie Blanchard of Hertford; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on April 9 at Damascus Christian Church with the Rev. Wayne Gardner officiating. A private committal followed in the church cemetery.
Friends may join the at either daughter’s home.
