Irving Linwood Mayo III, 67, of Home Port Lane, Gates, died Saturday, April 3, 2010 in his home.
Born in Bristol County, Mass., he was a retired public school custodian, served as a Harbor Master with the Bristol County Harbor Patrol and was also in the Special Police Force with the Swansea Police Department.
Survivors include his wife, Jacquelene Bresnahan Mayo; a daughter, Peggy MacCann; four sons, Steven W. MacCann Martin J. MacCann, Donald J. MacCann and Irving L. Mayo, IV; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Friends may join the family at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any chapter of the American Diabetes Foundation.
Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
