James Watson

James Williar Watson, 84, formerly of Murfreesboro, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Davis Health Care Center in Wilmington.
Born in Murfreesboro on January 21, 1926, James was the son of the late Bertram O. Watson and Elva Worrell Watson. He was a graduate of Murfreesboro High School and the North Carolina State University in Raleigh with a degree in Chemical Engineering.
James retired from the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Environmental Services Division in Richmond, Va. He was formerly employed by the Swift-Estech Company in Chesapeake, Va.; Lansing, IL; and South Korea. A WWII veteran, James served with the Army Air Force in the Pacific.
James is predeceased by his older brother Robert Edward Watson and sister-in-law Nancy Rawls Watson of Franklin, Va. He is survived by nieces Pat Watson of Wilmington; Kathryn Watson Murphy (Tom) of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and nephew Robert Edward Watson, Jr. (Leigh Ann) of Raleigh. Remembered also are cousins George Evans (Patti) of Como and Jane Lawder Johnston of Richmond, Va.
A memorial service will be held at the graveside Sunday, March 28, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Murfreesboro. The service will be conducted by Wright Funeral Home of Franklin.
