CONWAY – Authorities in Northampton County have made an arrest in an incident that allegedly took place five years ago.

Northampton County Sheriff Wardie Vincent said his office was alerted in February about an incident that allegedly occurred in 2005 involving the rape of a female who was 11 years old at the time.

“Investigators have been working the case since then and have now made an arrest in the incident,” Sheriff Vincent said.

Gilbert Martin Farrow, 39, of Farrow Lane in Conway was arrested and charged with first degree rape and taking indecent liberties with a minor. He has been placed in the Northampton County Detention Center under a $75,000 secured bond.

Sheriff Vincent said the incident allegedly occurred in Northampton County in 2005, but was not reported to his office until February. Northampton County Sheriff’s Detective Brenda Burnette investigated the case.

“I appreciate the work of Detective Burnette and others in the office who aided in the investigation,” Sheriff Vincent said.
