Emma Louise Spruill Phelps, 81, a resident of Guardian Care Nursing Home in Ahoskie, died Saturday, March 13, 2010.
Born in the Cherry community of Washington County, she was a member of Grace Baptist Church where she served as the youth choir leader.
Survivors include three sons, Danny Housley of Athens, Tenn., David Housley of Fort Worth, TX and Len Housley of Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Ramona Nash of Cary; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17 at the Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Price and the Rev. Paul Ange. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1– 2 p.m. at the church.
