Ella Watson

Ella Mae Martin Watson, 97, of the Ashley’s Grove Community, died Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Hampton Woods Health and Rehabilitation Center in Jackson after a brief illness.
Mrs. Watson was born January 6, 1913 in Northampton County, the eldest of 13 living children born to Grover and Essie Britt Martin. Mrs. Watson was currently the oldest member of Ashley’s Grove Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker.
She had been preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Neutron Watson; a daughter, Carol W. Williams; a granddaughter, grandson, and great granddaughter. Also, preceding her in death were her siblings, Clarence, Charlie, Sidney and Mildred Martin.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Joyce Bridgers (William Henry) of Milwaukee and Brenda Meyer (Bill) of Illinois; one son, Charlie Watson (Net) of Virginia; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and her siblings, Janie Outland, Mary Cahoon, Doris Vinson, Kelly Martin (Millie), Dennis Martin, Myrtle Revelle, Lillian Howerton (Bruce), and Gladys Wheeler (Grady).
A funeral service will be held at Ashley’s Grove Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 24 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Ross presiding. Burial will follow in the Milwaukee Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends at Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc. in Conway on Tuesday, February 23, from 7 to 8:30 P,M. and have requested that anyone wishing to share a memorial gift, please do so to Ashley’s Grove Baptist Church.
