Wallace Bruce Taylor, age 82, of the 900 block of Perrytown Road, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at Bertie Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Taylor was born in Hertford County on March 27, 1927, a son of the late William Jefferson and Ila Newsome Taylor.
He was a member of Perrytown Assembly of God Church and was a devoted NC Tarheel basketball fan. He had retired as a truck driver for Beasley Oil Company.
Wallace was a Navy veteran of WWII and was the widower of Doris Elizabeth Perry Taylor and Madeline Taylor Hinnant Taylor.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, JoAnna T. Sary and husband, Gregory, and their son Jodey Sary, all of Windsor, NC; and two sisters, Ila Louise Taylor of Harrellsville, NC, and Lina Taylor Evans of Suffolk, VA.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, February 18, 2010, at Highland Memorial Gardens with the Rev. David Baker officiating.
Arrangements were handled by Garrett-Jones Funeral Home in Ahoskie.
